Let me first say that the TaylorMade TP Red golf ball that I played today has the sweetest feel off the face of the driver of any balls I've ever hit. This is also the longest flying ball I remember hitting. My average well-hit drive previous to this ball would fly 220-240 and roll to 250-270. The well struck drives I hit today with the TaylorMade TP Reds carried at least 250 and a couple were even longer. The TaylorMade website states that the design of the dimples on the TP Red creates the optimum ratio of lift and drag to lengthen the last-half of ball flight for longer hang-time and carry and increased distance; and that is exactly my experience with these balls. I'm generally pretty cautious about believing every claim a manufacturer makes on it's products, but TaylorMade has really struck gold with the design and technology of this golf ball. I played the back 9 today with the TP Red and I was carrying fairway bunkers that I would have never attempted before; the ball just kept going up and up, even at 200 yards out it was still rising. Did I say that I really really liked this ball? I will be playing this golf ball for a long time. The next time I get out to play (in between winter storms) I am going to demo the TaylorMade TP Black golf ball which is supposed to be very similar but even longer. I can't wait.
